Will Aultcare Pay For Rehab?

Generally, yes, Aultcare will cover at least a portion of drug and alcohol rehab, depending on the specifics of your policy. Most members will have some out of pocket costs, such as co-pays, deductibles, or co-insurance.

If your deductible has already been met, it could mean your addiction treatment is completely covered by Aultcare with no additional out-of-pocket costs.

The type of rehab Aultcare will cover will also depend on the severity of your substance use disorder. For instance, medical detox may not be covered if it is not medically indicated. During a pre-assessment for treatment, our advisors can help you determine which level of care is appropriate and submit a claim with Aultcare on your behalf.

Type of Aultcare Plans

Like other insurance policies, Aultcare offers PPO and HMO options. With an HMO plan, you will be required to choose a treatment center that is in-network with your plan in order to utilize your benefits. Aultcare partners with Cigna to offer a network of 7,300 doctors and hospitals nationwide.

With a PPO plan, you’ll have more flexibility with out-of-network coverage, but can expect higher out-of-pockets costs if you choose an out-of-network drug and alcohol rehab. Because medical detox and residential treatment are inpatient levels of care, out-of-pocket costs can be high without coverage, so most Aultcare members choose in-network options when possible.

Aultcare Coverage For Medical Detox

Medical detox is an in-patient level of care to manage drug or alcohol withdrawal symptoms. Because some substances can carry dangerous withdrawal symptoms, Aultcare offers coverage when detox is medically indicated. Like other medical services, you can expect the same out-of-pocket costs such as copays or deductibles before coverage activates.

Medical detox is not always necessary, in which case Aultcare may not offer coverage. Aultcare will usually offer coverage for:

• Alcohol detox
• Heroin and fentanyl detox
• Prescription opioid detox, such as Oxycontin or Percocet
• Benzodiazepine detox, such as Ativan, Xanax or Valium

Residential Rehab That Accepts AultCare

Aultcare also offers coverage for traditional 30-day rehab. In residential treatment, clients engage in groups, individual counseling, psychiatry, and other therapies to address the underlying causes of their substance use disorder and develop relapse prevention strategies. 

Individuals may or may not first complete detox prior to residential treatment. Some clients may qualify to directly admit into residential treatment. At OARC, residential treatment still includes medical and nursing care, so mild withdrawal symptoms will still be addressed.

Aultcare Outpatient Coverage

Aultcare also offers coverage for various types of outpatient addiction treatment services at OARC. These include:

Partial hospitalization (PHP): PHP is an intensive program that is similar to residential treatment. The only difference is clients do not sleep at the facility, and instead reside at home or in a sober living home for the duration of their treatment.

Intensive outpatient (IOP): At OARC, IOP is 3 days per week with 3-hour class and therapy schedules. This allows clients to integrate back into their daily lives while maintaining accountability, therapy, and recovery support. 

Counseling: Outpatient counseling is usually 1-hour per week. This may last up to a year or longer depending on the client and their individual needs.

Aultcare Mental Health Coverage at OARC

Ohio Addiction Recovery Center is a dual diagnosis rehab, which means we also treat co-occurring mental health conditions. You or your loved one will meet with a psychiatrist to address any underlying mental health concerns. Like addiction treatment, Aultcare also covers these services.
