Our Women’s Addiction Treatment Program in Ohio
Empowering Women into Recovery
At Ohio Addiction Recovery Center, we understand that for many women, the path to addiction is paved with unique challenges, from navigating societal expectations and family roles to healing from past trauma. Our women’s addiction treatment program in Ohio is designed to provide a safe, nurturing sanctuary where you can step away from the noise of daily life and focus entirely on your healing. Ranked as the #1 addiction treatment center in Ohio by Newsweek, we reject the “one-size-fits-all” model, offering instead a gender-specific environment that fosters vulnerability, trust, and deep peer connection.
Our “recovery-driven” philosophy means we see your history as an asset, not a weakness. Whether you are seeking a medically supervised detox, residential rehab, or intensive outpatient support, our specialized women’s track integrates evidence-based clinical care with holistic therapies like yoga, art, and adventure therapy. By addressing the root causes of substance use, we empower you to reclaim your independence and build a foundation for a joyful, long-term recovery alongside a community of women who truly understand your journey.

A Specialized Approach: Why Gender-Specific Care Matters
For many women, addiction is deeply intertwined with specific life experiences—such as domestic roles, motherhood, and unique physiological responses to substances. Research shows that women often progress from initial use to addiction more quickly than men, a phenomenon known as “telescoping.”
Our women-only groups provide a “glass-wall” environment where you can discuss sensitive topics—including body image, reproductive health, and trauma—without the social pressures or distractions of a co-ed setting. This safety allows for deeper breakthroughs and a stronger sense of sisterhood that often becomes the backbone of long-term sobriety.
Comprehensive Services for Every Stage of Healing
We provide a full continuum of care, ensuring you never have to navigate a transition alone. Our women’s program includes:
- Trauma-Informed Therapy: Many women struggling with substance use have a history of trauma. Our clinicians use specialized modalities like EMDR and DBT to help you process the past safely.
- Dual Diagnosis Support: We treat the “whole person” by addressing co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, or eating disorders alongside chemical dependency.
- Family & Maternal Support: Whether you are working toward reunification with children or repairing relationships with parents, we provide family therapy to help heal the entire unit.
- Holistic Wellness: Recovery isn’t just about stopping a substance; it’s about feeling good in your body again. Our program includes nutritional guidance, yoga, and mindfulness practices tailored for women.

Our Women’s Detox Center
Medical detox is often the first phase of care. In 7-14 days, clients are medically supervised and treated for withdrawal symptoms. Being a small private facility, we have a total of 5 beds in our women’s detox program. This ensures comfortable and individualized attention for our clients.
Medical detox includes:
- 24/7 nursing supervision
- Medications for withdrawal symptoms
- Individual counseling
- AA, NA, and other guest speakers
- Catered food
- Recretations, art therapy, library, TV
- Vaping/Smoking allowed

Women’s Residential Treatment
Most women choose to enter our 45-day residential program after detox. Detox is intended to treat the physical component of addiction, while residential treatment focuses on the psychological aspect. Clients are highly encouraged to continue treatment after detox because it significantly increases chances for long term recovery. Addiction is a complex disease and detox alone is rarely sufficient to address the underlying causes of addiction.
Our women’s inpatient treatment center includes:
- Individual and group therapy
- Adventure therapy and excursions
- Psychiatry
- Life skills
- Yoga and physical fitness
- Catered food
- Aftercare planning and relapse prevention education

Outpatient Rehab For Women
After residential treatment, clients are highly encouraged to continue ongoing outpatient treatment while they transition into their normal daily lives. Early recovery can be a fragile period and continued support greatly increases chances of sustained recovery.
We offer
Intensive Outpatient (IOP): Outpatient group therapy for women, 3 days per week.
Outpatient (OP): Individual therapy with your counselor, usually once per week, up to 1 year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the facility private?
Yes. Our Ohio facility is designed to feel like a home, not a hospital. We offer semi-private rooms and comfortable common areas to ensure you feel at peace during your stay.
Do you accept insurance?
We work with most major private insurance providers. Our intake team can provide a free, no-obligation insurance verification to see what your coverage looks like.
Can I bring my phone or laptop?
We believe in a “digital detox” during the early stages of treatment to help you focus on yourself, but we do provide scheduled opportunities for family contact.
Benefits of Gender-Specific Rehab For Women
Women-only drug and alcohol rehab programs offer several benefits that cater specifically to the unique needs and challenges that women may face in their journey to recovery. Some of the key advantages include:
- Gender-specific issues: Women often have different experiences and issues related to addiction compared to men. Our programs are designed to address these gender-specific issues, such as societal expectations, cultural influences, and unique stressors.
- Safety and comfort: Some women may feel more comfortable and safe in a women-only environment, particularly if they have experienced trauma or abuse. Having a space that is free from the presence of men can contribute to a sense of security and openness during therapy sessions.
- Camaraderie and support: Women’s only rehab programs foster a sense of community among participants. Sharing experiences with others who have faced similar challenges can create a supportive and understanding atmosphere, enhancing the recovery process.
- Tailored treatment approaches: Women may have different biological, psychological, and social factors influencing their addiction and recovery. Women-only programs can provide tailored treatment plans that address these unique factors, promoting more effective and personalized care.
- Focus on holistic well-being: Our women-only rehab programs emphasize a holistic approach to recovery, addressing not only the addiction itself but also mental health, self-esteem, relationships, and overall well-being. This can contribute to a more comprehensive and long-lasting recovery.
- Childcare support: Women often bear a disproportionate responsibility for childcare, and addiction can complicate parenting. Our program helps women become better moms and learn valuable life skills.
- Female-centric therapies: Women may benefit from therapeutic approaches that are specifically tailored to their needs. This could include discussions on body image, self-esteem, and issues related to motherhood. Gender-specific therapies can provide a space for these topics to be addressed openly.
- Prevention of distractions: In a women-only environment, potential distractions or dynamics related to relationships with men may be minimized. This can help individuals stay focused on their recovery without external influences that could hinder progress.
Aftercare Services
Successful completion of a drug treatment program is a major milestone. While it should be celebrated, the real work in recovery begins after the completion of formal treatment.
