Our Intervention Process at OARC

Every intervention we facilitate follows a structured process designed to give your family the best possible chance of success.

1. Initial Consultation

We start with a confidential conversation to understand your loved one’s history, current situation, and the family dynamics involved.

2. Planning & Rehearsal

Our interventionist meets with the family and any other participants to build a personalized plan, assign roles, prepare impact statements, and rehearse the conversation so everyone feels confident going in.

3. Intervention & Treatment Placement

On the agreed day, our interventionist leads the conversation in person, keeping it structured and focused, managing emotions as they arise, and presenting your loved one with a clear, immediate treatment option. If your loved one agrees to help, we coordinate same-day or near-immediate placement into an appropriate level of care, removing the delay that so often allows a person to change their mind.

What is an Intervention?

An intervention is a planned, structured conversation between a person struggling with addiction or mental illness and the people who care about them most. Rather than an emotional confrontation, a professionally guided intervention is organized in advance, rehearsed with the family, and led by a trained interventionist who keeps the conversation focused, calm, and productive. The goal isn’t to shame or corner your loved one: it’s to help them see how their condition is affecting the people around them and to present a clear, immediate, and judgment-free path into treatment.

Is Intervention Right For Your Family?

Families often wait too long, hoping things will improve on their own. An intervention may be worth considering if your loved one is denying or minimizing the severity of their addiction or mental health struggles, has refused previous offers of help, is engaging in behavior that endangers themselves or others, has experienced a recent overdose, arrest, hospitalization, or job loss connected to their condition, or if the situation is straining relationships, finances, or the safety of the household. If you’re unsure whether your situation warrants a formal intervention, a consultation with our interventionist can help you decide.
